Many people unfortunately didn’t get the best dental care in their childhood, or didn’t take proper care of their teeth, and now are paying the price in terms of poor dental health and a smile that is not as attractive as they may want.Middle aged couple with attractive smiles sitting on couch after getting porcelain veneers

If you want to fix up your smile and improve your dental health, it’s never too late to start. However, the longer you wait, the more extensive your dental problems will likely become. The best thing to do is visit Dr. Carlson as soon as possible for a free consultation to get an idea of what it will take to get your smile in top shape.

The cost of a new smile will vary depending on how much dental work you need and how complex your dental problems are. We know that not everyone can afford to pay for extensive dental work upfront, which is why we accept both insurance and dental financing plans. We believe everyone should be able to have the smile of their dreams, and will work with you to try to fit a treatment plan into your budget.

Call us at 210-494-3511 to schedule your complimentary dental consultation today.

Will Insurance Cover a New Smile?

Dental insurance will often only cover the most basic, bare minimum dental treatments. Cosmetic treatments such as porcelain veneers or dental implants are unfortunately rarely covered. We will be happy to work with your insurance to get an estimate of coverage, though.

If your insurance doesn’t cover your recommended treatment plan, or only covers part of it, we offer dental financing plans to help you fit dental treatment into your budget. These plans offer flexible payment schedules at zero to low APR, and most of our patients are able to find a plan that works with their finances.

Dental treatments that most insurance plans cover include:

  • Fillings (check with your plan to see if they cover white fillings or only metal)
  • Crowns (some plans cover porcelain, others only cover metal)
  • Adhesive dentures
  • Extractions

Dental treatments that most insurance plans do not cover include:

  • Porcelain veneers
  • Teeth whitening

During your consultation, we will give you an estimate for how much your new smile will cost, including estimated insurance coverage. We’ll walk you through our dental financing options as well, and will work with you to find a way to achieve a beautiful and healthy smile in an affordable manner.

How Much Can I Expect to Pay for a New Smile?

It’s impossible to give an estimate of how much a new smile will cost, because it will be different for everyone. In general, you can expect to pay more if you have more complex or extensive dental problems. Two porcelain veneers will obviously cost less than eight, and a dental crown will cost more if you need a root canal along with it.

If you’re concerned about the cost of your dental treatment, don’t hesitate to bring up your concerns with Dr. Carlson. He may be able to work with you to help get your costs down to a manageable level. Your initial consultation for cosmetic dental procedures is absolutely free, so there’s no harm in coming in to see what we can do for you.
